First launched in 2022, the scholarship is conferred on outstanding university students in their third year and last year of studies in either science, engineering, technology, or business courses. In this year’s cohort, 25 of the recipients are new to the sponsorship while 5 were from last year’s cohort (deserving students in their final year of studies). The award money will cover tuition and educational expenses, and scholars will also be offered training, internship, and career opportunities. The selection was based on academic performance, social, and financial circumstances.
The total value of the scholarships is estimated at around 450 million VND (US$18,500). This year, Jabil worked with 9 universities in Ho Chi Minh City, including HCM City University of Technology, University of Technical Education, International University, University of Economics and Law, University of Economics, University of Industry, University of Banking, University of Economics and Finance and Ton Duc Thang University. The program received more than 800 applications and selected candidates were invited to undergo online English and ability tests, as well as face-to-face interviews.
