Arriving in Dalat, named ‘flower city’ this spring, visitors will be able to enjoy the truly fresh and quiet atmosphere, the charming architectural features, the landscapes and the local people’s hospitality. Visitors can enjoy colourful kinds of flowers in every corner of the city’s streets. Dalat’s flowers are being honoured.
Up to recently, flower resources have been honoured as a special picture of this misty land. In order to have various sources of flowers to serve the Flower Celebration and this year’s Lunar New Year Festival, Dalat city in particular and Lam Dong province in general have dedicated themselves to having an adequate preparation of flowers. Flower gardens have been widened, the cultivating areas have been raised and new kinds of flowers have been adopted.
As a result, at present, the cultivating areas of Dalat have reached a total of 700 ha, in which Dalat Hasfarm accounts for 33 ha. With the progress of biological application technology in flower plants, Dalat has succeeded in recovering and developing not only its traditional flowers but also new imported ones. With the modern planting process, flower quality has been considerably and comprehensively improved on a large scale.
The city flower gardens have been being upgraded with the application of modern models with many new kinds of flower source. This has made flower gardens become a very important landscape in Dalat. As a result, visitors today usually pause to gaze upon the beauty of the flowers. Recently, the Dalat flower Festival attracted many visitors who came to enjoy the beauty of flowers and more than 5,700 flower masterpieces were exhibited. This spring, flower gardens will continue to show many kinds of flowers to serve visitors. They can enjoy touring flowers centers such as the city park, Minh Tam Park, Dream Hill, Love Valley, Than Tho Lake… Furthermore, some areas in the city will be decorated with flowers to create a colourful flower world.
Flowers will be displayed not only at the city park but also in every road in the city from central areas to suburbs, from road sides to local roofs, from the fissure of rock to pine forests. It will make visitors feel that flowers appear everywhere in the city where life occurs. Flowers in this city are usually simple and slim but very attractive. Visitors can discover pure beauty and strong survival in the flowers. Although wild flowers are not exquisite and splendid, their colour can bring light to every street and even old abandoned houses. Several visitors said they would never forget the wild flowers in road sides. They realised that, the beauty of flowers can help them discover their own deepest soul, the thing that has been being hidden in the usual rush of life that is full of competitiveness. Sometimes, finding the beauty of flowers means diascovering peace in our heart, our soul as well as our emotions.
The success of Dalat Flower festival provided opportunities to develop flower tourism. At the international workshop on “Flower tourism”, with the participation of delegates from some 18 Asian countries and regions, it was recognized that Dalat would be an important destination for science and tourism programmers in ASEAN as well as the whole of Asia. Dalat city has tried their best to preserve and develop the beauty of flowers so that flower actually is a beautiful picture as well as an important tourist attraction. So, this spring, you should visit Dalat to enjoy the great beauty of flowers, to live close to nature as well as to discover the beauty of your hidden soul.
