Boehringer Ingelheim Continues to Bring Positive Impacts to Vietnam through Multiple Community Volunteering Efforts

Boehringer Ingelheim conducted a series of community-focused activities under the theme “Leading the Way.” 

Over 360 Boehringer Ingelheim Viet Nam’s employees volunteered their time across Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to support underprivileged communities and animal rescue organization, reaffirming the company's longstanding dedication to social responsibility and sustainability.

Strengthening commitment to transforming lives in Vietnam

These community volunteering activities are part of the Value Through Innovation Day (VTI Day), one of the highlights in Boehringer Ingelheim’s cultural calendar celebrated globally every May, to support less fortunate people, rescued animals. VTI Day’s theme inspired employees to take proactive actions that deliver value through innovation, benefiting patients, animals, communities, and the planet. By embracing this theme, Boehringer Ingelheim Viet Nam continues to fulfill its purpose of transforming lives for generations to come.

Over its more than 25-year presence in Vietnam, Boehringer Ingelheim has been devoted to making positive impacts on local communities. Last year, the company approached and supported nearly 500 people in need and 300 cats and dogs. This year, the company conducted a series of volunteering activities at care centers for orphans, elderly and disabled people as well as animal rescue stations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

On the day, more than 360 Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam’s employees visited, prepared meals, engaged in handicraft work, helped clean up the area, repainted walls, planting flowers, and supported the care of approximately 1,500 children and the elderly, as well as 500 dogs and cats in various locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.  

Furthermore, these activities align with Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam’s vision of creating a healthier, more sustainable, and equitable future for people and animals. On this occasion, the company also outlined its strategic focus and pathway until 2035, emphasizing continuous growth and delivering excellent value to customers and patients.

Leading the way to make more of every life, bring benefits to patients and animals

In addition to community outreach, Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam is committed to leading the way in healthcare in Vietnam.  The company is also pledged to long-term cooperation with the Ministry of Health to address unmet medical needs and improve the quality of life for Vietnamese people. Boehringer Ingelheim also remains dedicated to increasing the number of patients treated in stroke-ready hospitals and optimizing the quality of stroke care through the Angels Initiative. In particularly, the company has been collaborating with organizations like the World Stroke Organization (WSO), Vietnam Stroke Association (VNSA), and HCMC Stroke Association (HSA), committed to saving lives and improving the well-being of stroke patients in Vietnam.

Through the Angels Initiative, 108 stroke-ready hospitals have been established, with over 53,000 stroke patients treated.  

With the goal of improving animal health, the company has worked closely with veterinarians, pet owners, and health authorities to implement the program "STOP Rabies", to pursue a rabies-free status. The program focuses on raising community awareness about the importance of rabies prevention through vaccination and education, both of which are of paramount importance. On April 20, 2024, Boehringer Ingelheim employees and sixty veterinary students from Nong Lam University assisted with the rabies vaccination campaign and promote prevention against the disease. Since 2021, this initiative has successfully vaccinated 26,500 dogs and cats.
