The National Assembly of Vietnam unanimously elected Mr. Tran Thanh Man, a member of the Politburo and the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, as the Chairman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Chairman Man pledged his absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the people, and the Constitution, vowing to exert every effort to fulfill the duties entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people.
In his inaugural address, Chairman Man acknowledged the significant honor and responsibility bestowed upon him by the Party, the State, and the people. He affirmed his commitment to the principles of national independence and socialism, the creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, and the unwavering path of the Party’s renewal. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the highest interests of the country and the people, and the legitimate rights and aspirations of the people.
Chairman Man pledged to continually cultivate, practice, and enhance his revolutionary ethics. He committed to serious self-reflection, self-correction, self-criticism, and criticism, and to exemplify ethical conduct and lifestyle in both his professional and personal life.
He vowed to dedicate himself to serving the Fatherland and the people, and to work alongside the National Assembly, its Standing Committee, its agencies, and delegates to continue reforming and improving the quality and effectiveness of legislative work, supreme oversight, and decision-making on important national issues.
Chairman Man also emphasized his commitment to enhancing the National Assembly’s foreign affairs in alignment with Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. He pledged to promote democracy, solidarity, openness, and transparency, and to contribute to the construction of a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Chairman Man expressed his hope that all levels, branches, localities, people nationwide, scholars, intellectuals, and international friends will continue to support, accompany, assist, and facilitate him in successfully completing his tasks.
