Vietnamese firms are preparing for their participation in the Hong Kong Fashion Week 2006 and the trade fair for Gift, Toy and Household Utensil to be held in Hong Kong in July this year, according to the Ministry of Trade.

The ministry said these fairs are the biggest to be held annually in Hong Kong and Vietnam’s attendance in the events is aimed to boost exports to China.

The Vietnamese firms will showcase products of high competitive advantages such as handicraft and fine art, gift, garments, and home decoration at the fairs.

The fairs will also display high-grade textile fabric, textile equipment, jewelry, cookers, stationeries, toys, home decorations, and household utensils.

Vietnam will subsidize 23-25 per cent of total fees for pavilion lease and all rental of four-star hotel rooms for its enterprises registered to take part in the fairs, according to the ministry.
