Other distinguished attendees at the event included Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Industry and Trade, who also serves as Chairman of the Vietnam National Brand Council. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, was present to receive the award on behalf of the company.
The Vietnam National Brand Program was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 253/2003/QD-TTg dated November 25, 2003. This is the only governmental program to promote the national image and national brand through product brands (goods and services). The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be the standing agency responsible for coordinating with relevant ministries/sectors to implement the program.

The Vietnam Value program, held biennially since its inception in 2008, aims to encourage companies to embrace and promote the core values of "Quality, Innovation, Creativity and Pioneering Capacity." The program seeks to inspire businesses to drive continuous innovation, enhance product quality, and foster sustainable growth and development.
In 2024, the Vietnam Value Award was presented to 190 companies. Notably, Saigon Newport Corporation received the award for the eighth consecutive year, maintaining its distinction as the only national brand in the seaport and logistics services sector.
Saigon Newport Corporation is currently managing and operating 26 ports in 16 provinces and cities nationwide, including 10 major seaports in Vietnam. The company commands over 90% of the import-export container market share in the southern region and more than 55% of the national port system's container market share. It contributes 18-20% of Ho Chi Minh City's state budget revenue and nearly 6% of the national state budget annually. In 2024, the container throughput across its entire port system is projected to reach 10.72 million TEUs, reflecting a 9.1% year-on-year growth.
Along with military, defense and business tasks, Saigon Newport Corporation also effectively implements gratitude and community responsibility movements. Up to now, the corporation has supported lifetime care of nearly 400 Vietnamese heroic mothers and relatives of martyrs, sponsored fishermen's children, donated the fund for the poor in localities, the fund for the sea and islands, and the fund for beloved Truong Sa. In 2024, Saigon Newport spent more than VND90 billion on these activities.
An art performance at the awarding ceremony
Saigon Newport currently ranks 17th globally in container throughput and is recognized as one of Vietnam's top five leading logistics companies. As a state-owned enterprise, it leads in investing in state-of-the-art equipment, integrating advanced information technology, and driving digital transformation and online services in governance and operations. The company is also at the forefront of developing dynamic, modern "green ports" and "smart services."
Being recognized with the Vietnam Value Award for eight consecutive years serves as a powerful source of inspiration for all staff at Saigon Newport Corporation. It reaffirms the company's capabilities and the prestige of its brand, which has twice been honored with the Labor Hero title by the Party and State.
This has thus motivated Saigon Newport to maintain its No. 1 position in Vietnam in port operations, logistics services and brand development in the international market, while creating momentum for the corporation to become a leading business-defense group in Vietnam in port operations and logistics services.
