Thales has renewed its support to Vietnam Airlines to provide its FlytCARE services for maintenance of their inflight entertainment (IFE) systems through a contract with Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines).

The 27 wide-body aircraft of Vietnam Airlines’ fleet of A350, B787-9 and B787-10 Dreamliner fleets are equiped with state-of-the-art Thales’ AVANT In-Flight Entertainment IFE systems.

This latest contract covers maintenance for the airlines’ A350 and B787 fleets and includes spares availability services at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat International Airport at Ho Chi Minh City.

For almost 10 years, Thales has provided uninterrupted support to Vietnam Airlines through a contractual partnership with VAECO. Thales has, once again, been selected for FlytCARE maintenance services on the AVANT IFE systems across 27 wide body aircraft on Vietnam Airlines’ fleets of Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft.

FlytCARE provides direct and seamless support including spares availability services at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat International Airport at Ho Chi Minh City.

With a  presence established in Vietnam since 1994, Thales has been a trusted partner to the country’s aerospace industry, delivering advanced solutions that address Vietnam’s priorities in aerospace amongst other sectors.

The agreement further strengthens Thales' long-term partnership with Vietnam Airlines and its subsidiary VAECO. It emphasizes the provision of spare parts, repair services, and logistics management, along with a commitment to equipment availability while minimizing operational risks. The FlytCARE agreement will provide ongoing IFE product support and services to VAECO, enhancing reliability and ensuring a world-class passenger experience for Vietnam Airlines.

"At Thales we are proud to strengthen our long-standing relationship with Vietnam Airlines and this new agreement is a demonstration of our shared commitment for operational excellence,” said Nicolas Bernardin, country director Vietnam, Thales. “Our team is dedicated to supporting the needs of Vietnam Airlines whilst ensuring an outstanding inflight entertainment experience for all passengers.”
