Vietnam Lures US$3.1Tln via Postal Saving Service

The Vietnam Postal Savings Service Company (VPSC), an arm of the Vietnam Post & Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT), has mobilized VND3 trillion (US$190 million) in the first two months of this year, bringing its total mobilization so far to VND49 trillion (US$3.1 billion).
 
VPSC has sent VND540 million to the Development Assistance Fund (DAF) in the period, and plans to transfer a total VND2.5 trillion (US$158 million) to the DAF this year.
 
VPSC has so far handed over VND6.23 trillion (US$394 million) to the fund.
 
The company is now offering various kinds of savings services at more than 800 post offices nationwide, such as term-based deposits, personal deposits, account transfers, and multifunctional postal money transfer services.
 
VPSC is expected to make a breakthrough this year as the government has allowed it to provide multi-services.
 
PSSC is operating with registered capital of VND163 billion (US$10.4 million).
