Vinachem Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Hanoi University of Science and Technology

On June 18, 2025, at the headquarters of Vietnam Chemical Group (Vinachem), the signing ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement for the period 2025–2030 between Vietnam Chemical Group and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) took place.

Attending the signing ceremony, on the side of Vietnam Chemical Group were Mr. Phung Quang Hiep - Chairman of the Board of Members of the Group and Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, General Director of the Group, along with representatives of the Board of Members, Board of Directors, representatives of leaders of specialized departments and member units of Vinachem

On the side of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, there were Prof. Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang, Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and representatives of the Board of Directors, Schools - Faculties - Training Institutes of HUST.

The cooperation agreement between the two sides was signed to strengthen the connection between Vinachem and HUST, promote strengths in the chemical field, towards improving training quality, scientific research efficiency, technology transfer, developing high-quality human resources and promoting communication work in the new period.

At the meeting, Mr. Phung Quang Hiep - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Chemical Group - affirmed his desire to strengthen cooperation with Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the fields of training, scientific research and personnel recruitment. The Group highly appreciated the training quality of the University and expected that the two sides would coordinate closely, especially in organizing professional training programs, creating conditions for students to practice, and recruiting high-quality human resources from graduates. He suggested that the two sides jointly develop a specific cooperation agreement, exchange information on training orientation, and coordinate with units such as the Institute of Chemistry to effectively implement activities in the coming time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang - Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology - emphasized the important role of cooperation between the school and enterprises in updating technology, improving training programs and practical skills for students. He said that the school's enrollment strategy is expanding to many localities, including remote areas, to ensure balance and fair access to technical education. Hanoi University of Science and Technology wishes to work with Vinachem to build a specific coordination mechanism, implement a cooperation roadmap with periodic assessment and appropriate adjustments. This is the school's social responsibility in accompanying enterprises in developing technology, products and human resources, and at the same time creating a model of exemplary cooperation for replication in the future. According to the cooperation agreement for the period 2025-2030, Vietnam Chemical Group (Vinachem) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) will cooperate in five key areas: training, scientific research, technology transfer, human resource development and communication.

In the field of training and human resource development, HUST will build a team of experts to support Vinachem and its member units in receiving and mastering technology in chemical projects. At the same time, HUST organizes long-term training courses and short-term training courses to improve the professional qualifications of Vinachem staff and engineers. In return, Vinachem creates conditions for HUST lecturers and students to participate in practical projects, internships and experiences at the Group.

Vinachem will consider granting scholarships to students with good academic performance, difficult circumstances and a desire to work with the Group for a long time. HUST will introduce suitable candidates for Vinachem to prioritize recruitment when needed. In addition, Vinachem plans to send experts to teach, share production practices and provide career orientation for students, while HUST will organize training courses on science - technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transformation for Vinachem managers.

Regarding research and technology transfer, the two sides will comprehensively implement R&D activities, focusing on applying AI, Big Data, IoT in management - production; developing smart, environmentally friendly processes; researching and manufacturing high-tech chemical products, promoting localization.

The two sides will also cooperate in improving equipment, upgrading technical infrastructure, saving energy, reducing CO₂ emissions and switching to green fuels. Laboratory systems, equipment and teams of experts will be mobilized to serve common scientific topics.

In addition, the two sides will coordinate to develop technical standards, co-organize scientific seminars and conferences, promote knowledge sharing and innovation. This agreement contributes to developing high-quality human resources and improving the scientific and technological capacity of the Vietnamese chemical industry.

The signing ceremony not only marks a new development step in the cooperative relationship between the Vietnam Chemical Group and Hanoi University of Science and Technology, but also opens up a practical direction to effectively connect training - research with production - business. With a long-term vision, this strategic partnership will create a solid foundation for forming a team of highly qualified scientific and technological staff, promoting innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese chemical industry in the era of sustainable development.
