Amata City Ha Long, also known as Song Khoai Industrial Park - a “high-quality FDI transit hub” in northern Vietnam - is entering a new acceleration phase, especially with with the upcoming third ABAC Meeting to be hosted in a nearby area. In an interview granted to Vietnam Business Forum, Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan, General Director of Amata City Ha Long Joint Stock Company, shared his vision of integrating industry, urban development, and services, alongside a green infrastructure strategy and a strong commitment to partnering with Vietnam in affirming its role in APEC 2027.

Amata City Ha Long aims to offer smart services that help investors optimize production, operations, and supply chains for maximum benefits

The third ABAC Meeting is scheduled to take place in Hai Phong City, just 40 km from Song Khoai Industrial Park. Do you think this is a golden opportunity for Amata City Ha Long to engage with APEC investors during investment promotion series and affirm its status as a high-quality FDI transit hub in northern Vietnam?

Amata City Ha Long is located at the core of Quang Yen Coastal Economic Zone, adjacent to major urban centers and strategically positioned near key airports and seaports. Once the ongoing expressway project is completed, it will open wide the door for businesses, including APEC investors, to access the industrial park.

Particularly, Amata City Ha Long enjoys seamless connectivity with Hai Phong, the host of the third ABAC Meeting, and sits within one of the most dynamic economic zones northern Vietnam. The industrial park is also prioritized by Quang Ninh province to speed up infrastructure development projects.

The third ABAC Meeting in Hai Phong presents a valuable opportunity for Amata City Ha Long not only to reaffirm its position but also to expand its network with leading corporations in the APEC region. Amata aims to share its vision of building a sustainable, high-quality investment environment where businesses can grow and thrive.

We believe the meeting will not only link Amata City Ha Long with top-tier corporations but also help attract more high-quality FDI projects to Quang Ninh and northern Vietnam.

Amata City Ha Long is designed to integrate industries and services. Could you elaborate on how this model helps investors optimize costs, operations, and supply chain management?

Amata City Ha Long aims to combine smart services to support investors in optimizing production as well as operation and supply chain management stages to get maximum benefits. This model proves especially effective in supply chain administration. With the growth of logistics networks, investors can leverage warehousing and transportation services within the region.

Strategically located near deep-water seaports, Vietnam-China border, international airports, and traffic arteries, Amata City Ha Long enables businesses to reduce transportation time and costs. This is particularly crucial for industries requiring fast and efficient supply chains. Centralized management of manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics operations helps minimize risks while boosting production and delivery capabilities.

As Vietnam shifts to attract high-tech, low-emission FDI, how has Amata City Ha Long adapted its infrastructure, policies, and services to meet this trend?

Amata City Ha Long is fully aligned with the Government's strategy to attract industries and fields that apply advanced technology, produce low emissions, and prioritize environmental sustainability. This has been a consistent orientation of Amata Group since it established its industrial parks in Vietnam.

Previously, Amata City Bien Hoa was selected by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (now the Ministry of Finance) and UNIDO (out of more than 300 existing industrial parks) to pilot an eco-industrial park framework that adopts the circular economy model. Amata City Ha Long is currently being developed and integrated based on that foundation.

Since its establishment in 2018 and after 2-3 years of site readiness, Amata City Ha Long has attracted nearly 21 projects with a total investment of US$3 billion and created 22,000 jobs.

We are focusing on building infrastructure that meets international quality standards while ensuring utilities, especially electricity and water, for factories that consume much energy for production. At the same time, we are working with local authorities to promote the reuse of circular energy and wastewater treatment.

Amata also continues to invest in landscaping within the industrial park, increase the share of renewable energy, create a clean working environment, minimize environmental impact and enhance the quality of life for workers and responsibility to the local community.

The primary objective of Amata City Ha Long is to develop an industrial park that attracts numerous multinational corporations, thereby facilitating the growth of surrounding urban areas and residential communities. Amata also plans to invest in worker housing if the province requests it. In addition, some tenants in the industrial park have actively developed worker housing areas to align with their production needs and corporate welfare policies.

Vietnam will continue to host APEC in 2027. As a leading FDI enterprise, what contributions has Amata been making to help Vietnam uplift its position in the regional investment map?

Vietnam hosting APEC 2027 is a clear demonstration of the country’s rising status in the regional investment and economic landscape. As a prominent FDI enterprise with over 30 years in Vietnam, Amata is firmly committed to contributing to this journey.

Vietnam’s continued role as the host of APEC in 2027 is a clear testament to the country’s growing stature on the regional economic and investment map. As a leading FDI enterprise with over 30 years of presence in Vietnam, Amata remains committed to and active to play a role on this journey of elevating the nation’s position.

From the outset, Amata has taken the lead in developing world-class industrial parks, successfully attracting various multinational corporations and creating tens of thousands of jobs for local workers.
