Saigon Newport Honored with Second Prize at 4th HCM City Innovation Awards

With a series of digital transformation initiatives and IT applications in port operations and business, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) has excellently won the Second Prize in the Economic Development category at the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Awards.

The HCM City People’s Committee recently held the award ceremony for the 4th HCM City Innovation Awards. This prestigious trophy aims to honor agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals with initiatives, projects and creative works that contribute practically to the city’s development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee, said that the accolade encourages and inspires diligence, innovation and emulation among all social groups, thereby helping achieve socioeconomic development goals and realize the city's aspiration to rank among the world’s top 100 most livable cities.

In 2025, the Awards Organizing Committee received 292 projects and products from organizations and individuals, both domestically and internationally. Among them, 41 entries were in the economic development category, 15 in defense and security, 42 in state management, 48 in communication, 62 in literature and arts, and 30 in innovative startups. The entries showcased not only a variety of formats but also rich and creative content, reflecting the innovative spirit of the city’s business community.

The awards were judged across seven categories: economic development; national defense and security, state management, communication, literature and arts, science and technology, and innovative startups. After three rounds of rigorous evaluation, the council proposed and the HCM City People’s Committee approved prizes for 51 individuals and groups with outstanding works. Most winning initiatives have already been applied in practice, delivering significant real-life impact and continuing to inspire the city’s aspiration for innovation in the city.

At the award ceremony, Saigon Newport was honored with the Second Prize in the Economic Development category for its digital transformation and IT application solutions in port operations. These include the deployment of the virtual assistant Pi to support customers in resolving issues, and advanced port management systems such as TOPO, TOPX, EWMS and OTM to optimize cargo processing time and procedures at ports. Besides, solutions for digitization of cargo handling processes, vehicle tracking, online customer connection via the electronic portal (ePort), and the use of big data analytics support leaders to make quick decisions and plan effective policies.

These solutions not only enhance operational efficiency but also help SNP reduce processing time, lower logistics costs for businesses and cut CO₂ emissions. As a result, they advance the progress towards green ports and sustainable logistics and contribute to strengthening the overall economic competitiveness of HCM City and the whole country as a whole.

With a vision to become a key player in developing a comprehensive ecosystem of ports - logistics - maritime transport - industrial zones - renewable energy, SNP regards innovation and technology as vital drivers of growth. This award is a well-deserved recognition for its relentless efforts in digital transformation and global integration.
