9Pay has officially partnered with the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) to deploy VietQR Global. This cross-border QR payment solution completes its end-to-end payment ecosystem for the tourism sector of 9Pay. The solution enables international travelers to enjoy a seamless payment experience across accommodation, shopping, dining and entertainment, contributing to the development of smart tourism and the digital economy.

As part of its strategy to develop an All-in-one payment ecosystem for tourism, 9Pay is building a unified payment platform that connects online, point-of-sale, and cross-border payments within a single system. From its Payment Gateway and Payment Link to 9PayPOS and TingTing Business Speaker, businesses can manage all payment needs for both domestic and international customers through one platform. VietQR Global serves as a key component in completing this payment infrastructure.
VietQR Global is currently integrated into 9Pay’s Payment Gateway and Payment Link, enabling international tourists and guests to make instant payments by scanning a QR code using their own country’s e-wallet or banking app. This provides a more cost-effective payment option compared with conventional methods, while eliminating the need for travelers to calculate exchange rates. In the next phase, 9Pay will complete the integration of VietQR Global with TingTing Business Speaker and 9PayPOS.
9Pay’s digital payment platform is built on technology infrastructure that complies with international security standards, including PCI DSS Level 1 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022, as well as regulations issued by the State Bank of Vietnam governing payment intermediary services and user data protection. The solution was also recently recognized with the Sao Khue Award in the Digital Economy and Digital Transactions category, a prestigious award presented by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
For businesses, VietQR Global not only expands their ability to serve international customers but also shortens deployment time, reduces infrastructure investment costs and simplifies operational processes. With fully online business eKYC, businesses can complete registration and receive approval within 24 hours. In particular, small merchants, which account for a significant share of Vietnam’s tourism ecosystem, can accept international payments simply by using a QR code, without having to invest in international card-accepting POS terminals or meet complex technical and regulatory requirements.
In addition, 9Pay provides a management application and intelligent analytics dashboard that enables businesses to monitor revenue and gain detailed insights into international customer segments by country, spending patterns and payment behavior. These insights allow businesses to optimize operations, marketing activities and customer engagement.
Beyond its technological advantages, the solution offers competitive pricing and promotional incentives for businesses registering to use the service during the first month, helping them quickly adopt cross-border payment methods and capture greater opportunities to serve international travelers.
Mr. Vu Ngoc, COO of 9Pay, said: “Tourism is not only about attractive destinations; it also requires a modern, convenient and frictionless payment experience. By integrating VietQR Global, 9Pay is taking steps to complete its All-in-one payment ecosystem for tourism, starting with connectivity across neighboring markets. At the same time, we continue to explore QR-based payment solutions for travel businesses and payment partners in markets such as the United States, Europe and India.
Our goal is to build an open cross-border payment infrastructure where international travelers can pay using the payment methods they are already familiar with. This will serve as a foundation for enhancing the traveler experience while enabling Vietnamese businesses to reach global customers in a secure, convenient and efficient manner.”
VietQR Global currently supports travelers from China, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, South Korea and Singapore. The network is expected to expand to Japan, India, Malaysia and other key markets in the near future.
The deployment of VietQR Global also represents another step toward 9Pay’s ambition to become a payment hub connecting Vietnam with international markets. As payment experiences become more seamless and convenient, Vietnam can not only enhance the quality of services offered to international travelers but also strengthen the attractiveness of the country as a destination amid increasingly intense competition across the regional tourism market.
9Pay expects that, with the support of NAPAS and its domestic and international partners, VietQR Global will contribute to positioning Vietnam as a digital-payment-friendly destination, where travelers can enjoy a seamless journey without friction in their everyday spending.
Beyond tourism, 9Pay’s cross-border payment platform is also being deployed across industries with high transaction volumes and international-standard service requirements, including e-commerce and streaming, among others.
