To improve the quality of life for residents of Thường Tín Commune, the Hanoi People's Committee has assigned Hanoi Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd. to implement a centralized clean water supply project. As a result, thousands of remaining households in Thường Tín Commune will soon gain access to clean water meeting the Ministry of Health's standards.

Hanoi urgently implements water supply project for villages in thường tín commune
To date, 16 villages across Thường Tín Commune have been supplied with clean water by the enterprise for daily use. Meanwhile, households in four villages of the commune, namely Trát Cầu, Ngọc Động, Hiền Giang and Nhân Hiền, are currently relying mainly on hygienic water sources from rainwater and drilled wells.
To accelerate the provision of clean water, on August 23, 2023, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 2697/UBND-ĐT, assigning Hanoi Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd. to implement a water supply project for the remaining villages of Thường Tín Commune and the communes of Thượng Phúc, Chương Dương, Hồng Vân and Phú Xuyên. However, for various reasons, the project (Phase 2A) has only now resumed implementation.
According to Nguyễn Khánh Tú, an official of Hanoi Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd., since early June 2026, the company has been urgently installing the pipeline network and water meters to supply clean water to the thousands of remaining households. After holding meetings with residents to announce the project's implementation policy and construction plan, the company will cover the entire cost of the work, including constructing the entire water supply pipeline network, installing water meters and restoring roads. The project is scheduled to be implemented from June 2026 to December 2026.
Lê Anh Tuấn, Head of the Economic Division of Thường Tín Commune, said that the enterprise has so far supplied clean water to residents in the commune's villages. In line with the Hanoi People's Committee's directives, the commune's departments and villages are working with the enterprise to install the clean water pipeline network for residents.
Vũ Thị Dung, a resident of Nhân Hiền Village, said she was delighted to learn that the enterprise was installing the clean water pipeline network, as residents would no longer have to rely on drilled-well water and rainwater that did not meet their needs. “In just a few more days, my family and many other households in the village will register, complete the necessary documents and receive clean water,” she said.
Chairman of the Thường Tín Commune People's Committee Phan Thanh Tùng said that local residents living along the Nhuệ River have been affected by pollution and have mainly relied on drilled-well water for daily use for decades. Therefore, the provision of clean water has long been a strong aspiration, aimed at ensuring the health of residents in the areas that have not yet been supplied with clean water.
According to the reporter's observations in mid-July 2026, after meetings were held with residents in the commune's remaining villages to provide information about the clean water supply project, the enterprise was carrying out construction work to install the main water supply pipelines and pipeline networks leading into residential areas, making residents very pleased.
Based on the plan, Hanoi Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd. is coordinating with the commune's departments and villages to implement the project, with construction components including the installation of water supply pipelines, installation of household water meters and restoration of roads. Accelerating the completion of Phase 2A will give residents greater peace of mind.
Under the city's plan, the enterprise completed the installation of the network and clean water supply under Phase 1 from 2023 to 2024 in a number of villages. Phase 2A, from 2025 to 2026, involves building the pipeline network to supply clean water to the remaining villages. However, for various reasons, the project has only now been implemented.
Chairman of the Thường Tín Commune People's Committee Phan Thanh Tùng affirmed that clean water is one of the important criteria for ensuring people's health and quality of life. The proportion of residents in Thường Tín Commune using clean water, according to current statistics, has not yet reached the desired level. However, favorable conditions are now emerging, with the goal that 100% of households in the commune will have access to clean water in the coming period.
“To ensure the goal of providing clean water to all households in the area by 2026, the Thường Tín Commune People's Committee is taking decisive action to direct agencies and villages where the project is being implemented to coordinate in handing over sites and completing construction components so that the enterprise can soon connect pipelines and install clean water meters to serve residents,” Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Phan Thanh Tùng emphasized.
