The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has decided to raise the chartered capital in its BIDV Securities Co. (BSC) VND200 billion (US$12.5 million) from VND100 billion (US$6.25 million). Tran Anh Tuan, deputy general director of BIDV, said this move makes BSC one of the most potential securities firms in Vietnam at the moment.

BSC was one of the two first operating securities firms when Vietnam opened the Ho Chi Minh City Securities Trade Centre (HSTC). BSC is also the first securities firm in the Vietnamese banking system. After five years, BSC has developed its prestige and position on the market and is well-known for excellent services and good business results. The UK’s Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) and the Vietnam’s quality measurement and standardisation centre granted ISO 9001:2000 certificates for such BSC operations as brokerage, custody, equitisation consultancy, enterprise value appraisal, issuing guaranty and portfolio management.

Previously, BIDV raised chartered capital of BSC from VND71.587 billion (US$4.47 million) to VND100 billion (US$6.25 million).
