Delegations of the Singaporean Enterprises Association (IES) and Lotte Trading group of South Korea have arrived in HCM City to survey Vietnam’s retail market.

IES visited supermarkets in the city such as Metro, Citimart, An Dong Supermarket, Parkson, Zen Plaza, and Diamond Plaza.

IES also met with enterprises operating in the city in the fields of foodstuff, beverage, and fashion such as Trung Nguyen, Nam An group, Kinh Do, Senti, Khaisilk, and Viet Thy, to seek opportunities through developing concession network.

Meanwhile, Lotte Trading was keen on retail, real estate, restaurant, and hotel markets in HCM City. It worked with the city Investment Promotion Center to learn about the city’s investment procedures, business costs, and rental market projections.

Vietnam now stands at eighth position among 30 retail markets in the world having the highest growth rates, according to a survey by AT Kearny.

The country is now home to 200 supermarkets, 30 trade centers, 1,000 do-it-yourself shops and 9,000 markets.
