Citigroup Grants Excellent Payment Awards to Vietnamese Banks

Citigroup has recently granted excellent payment awards 2005 to two Vietnamese banks, the Hanoi Housing Development Bank (Habubank) and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) for their excellent achievements in automatic international payment settlements.

 

Since September 2005, Habubank has won awards for outstanding international payment settlements from Citigroup, the Union Bank of California (UBOC) and the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).

 

According to Fred Shyur, director in charge of the Pacific-Asia branch of the bank, Habubank posts the straight through rate of more than 99 per cent, a high rate amongst banks in Vietnam.

 

Additionally, with the straight through rate of 99 per cent, this is the fifth consecutive year that the BIDV has been honored by Citigroup in the field. Furthermore, the bank has also been offered rewards for high quality payment by American Express Bank,

AMEX, HSBC and received positive responses from many banks for SWIFT payment activities.

 

In a related movement, Citigroup has presented such an award to the Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIBank) for outstanding payment in the fiscal year 2005, marking the second consecutive year the bank has won the award.
