Vietnamese, Malaysian Stock Exchanges to Set up Cross-trading Link
Bursa Malaysia and Ho Chi Minh City Securities Trading Center (HSTC) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on setting up a cross-trading link between the two sides’ stock exchanges, said Business Times newspaper.
“The partnership between Bursa Malaysia and HCMC-STC would allow both sides to cooperate in market development and explore new business ventures,” Bursa Malaysia chief executive officer, Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, said
This cooperation also shows the commitments of the two countries in developing strategic alliances with industry partners globally conforming to mutual aims to offer benefits of capital market investments in both countries, said Yusli in a statement.
Additionally, Bursa Malaysia will work closely with HSTC to provide assistance for training and researches as well as cross-trading within Malaysia and Vietnam, he added.
Meanwhile, Tran Dac Sinh, HSTC’s general director said that Vietnam was happy to partner with Bursa Malaysia which boasted strong performance in the securities market.
