APEC Vietnam 2006 Trade Fair

The APEC Vietnam 2006 trade fair will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from November 11-19, 2006 under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
The event is an opportunity for Vietnamese and foreign entrepreneurs to meet each other, exchange view and ideas, seek co-operation and partnership opportunities. The fair is expected to have at least 594 pavilions plus over 3,000 square metres for displaying and introducing the achievements of 21 APEC member economies.
 
On this occasion, a student festival will be held with a presentation contest, entitled ‘Vietnamese students’ knowledge during APEC integration,’ and many other contests for visitors of the fair. Art performances will be given by Vietnamese and foreign artists.
 
Nguyen Thanh Chau, deputy head of the APEC Vietnam 2006 Secretariat, said that the fair would be an opportunity for Vietnamese and foreign enterprises from 21 APEC member economies to introduce their products, goods and services, to promote their co-operation and partnership, trade and technology transfer. The activity will also help improve the Vietnamese public’s awareness of the APEC forum.

Nguyen Huu Tin, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said that the activity was of great importance, making a contribution to promoting economic ties of Ho Chi Minh City and to the success of the APEC Vietnam 2006.
