GM-Daewoo Vietnam Exports Auto Parts to Thailand
GM-Daewoo Vietnam Motor Co. (Vidamco) has shipped two containers of auto petrol tanks to Thailand, state-run Vietnam News Agency reported.
The move is within a plan to export car parts to several regional countries of Vidamco and Thailand is the first destination, it quoted a company source as saying.
Vidamco has successfully invited four Korean part suppliers to join its network in order to increase the localization rate for its products as well as export to other countries through GM network.
Vidamco hopes to earn US$6 million, US$10 million and US$20 million from car parts export in, 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively.
Vidamco exports will rely on GM distribution network.
GM Daewoo Vietnam reported it sold 781 automobiles in the first six months of this year, down 66 per cent.
