BIDV Awarded Community Development Cup
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was awarded the “For the Development of the Community” Cup in Hanoi on July 16, 2006. The Cup was presented to individuals or groups of people significantly contributing to the development of the community. A total of 510 individuals and enterprises registered for the Cup. However, the Cup only went to 97 units, enterprises and 22 individuals.
BIDV is one of the biggest contributors to social development. Since 2003, BIDV has raised and sponsored over VND15 billion (US$1 million) to the Fund for the Poor, Study Encouragement Fund, AO/Dioxin Victims Fund and others. In June 2006, BIDV donated VND250 million to AO/Dioxin victims at the Mercy Bridge Programme.
The Cup was awarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises Association, Vietnam Cooperative Union, East Asia Scientific Studies Association the Institute of Consulting Socio-economic Development in Rural and Mountainous Areas and Hanoi Culture Company.
