Savipharm Builds WHO-GMP Medicine Factory

Pharmaceutical company Savipharm has kicked off the construction on a 2.5-ha WHO-GMP pharmaceutical plant at Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr Tran Tuu, Chairman of Savipharm, said this project is split into two phases. In the first phase, the company will build a VND 160-billion (US$10 million) medicine material processing and apply biotechnology under the Health Global Access Project (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and other standards of World Health Organisation in My Phuoc Industrial Park 2 in southern Binh Duong Province. 
 
In the second phase after 2010, Savipharm will expand investment in industry, modern production lines and new technologies in its facility in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone and simultaneously invest in a 12-ha complex in My Phuoc Industrial Park 3 with a total investment capital of VND640 billion (US$40 million).
