Vietnam Expected to Receive 4.2Mln International Visitors in 2007
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said the international arrivals to Vietnam reached 3.25 million in the first 11 months of 2006 and expected to receive 3.6 million international arrivals and 17.5 domestic visitors in 2006.
Now is the travelling season; hence, all major hotels in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are operating at full capacity and have rooms booked until early 2007.
In 2007, the tourism industry expects to serve 4.2 million international arrivals, an increase of 16 per cent and obtain a total turnover of US$2.5 billion. At present, the VNAT has set up plans to attend major tourism events such as ASEAN Tourism Forum, TRAVEX Fair, ITB-Berlin, Salon Mondial du Tousisme (France), Intour Market (Russia), WTF (China) and others.
