PM Dung to Visit Italy, Switzerland
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will pay an official visit to Italy on January 25, before going to Switzerland to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Dung will visit Italy at the invitation of President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Romano Prodi, and take part in the Jan. 26-27 WEF in Davos at the invitation of WEF president Klaus Schwab, according to the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese government leader will meet with Pope Benedict XVI.
On the sidelines of the forum, which is expected to welcome more than 2,000 leaders from business, politics, academia, the media and civil society, Dung will hold bilateral talks with leaders of participating countries and meet with presidents of world leading groups.
Dung and his counterparts from Malaysia, and the Philippines will also attend a special plenary session on ASEAN. (The People)
