A group of businesspeople from 30 Danish companies are seeking business opportunities in Vietnam, an emerging ICT market with average annual growth over 40 per cent in the past five years.

Vietnam is holding huge potential for IT development, visiting Rene Dines Hermand, managing director of Esoft Systems A/S, said at a seminar themed “Vietnam and Demark to share the sizzle of information technology and electronics” in Hanoi April 16.

Esoft Systems A/S plans to triple its software production capacity in the future, after almost one year operating in Vietnam, he said.

At the seminar, Peter Lysholt Hansen, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, said Vietnam has achieved impressive results in socioeconomic growth, and Vietnamese IT and electronics sectors have huge potential to further boost this positive trend.

Therefore, it is Denmark’s wish to develop strong and long-lasting business partnerships with Vietnamese companies for mutual benefit.

Danish companies are known worldwide for their expertise and commitment to innovation in IT and electronics.

The Danish Embassy is willing to help Vietnamese businesses improve their business development capacity through the Business-to-Business (B2B) program, funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).

Deputy Minister of Post and Telecom Vu Duc Dam stressed that the Vietnamese Government’s reform policy is facilitating national integration into the global economy. With current strong economic growth, IT and electronics are considered the most important sectors, he added.

Truong Gia Binh, chairman of FPT, the largest software solutions firm in Vietnam, said the Vietnam IT sector records annual growth of 47 per cent, with 720 companies. (VnMedia)
