ITA-Power to Build 600-MW Thermo-power Plant in Southern Vietnam
ITA-Power of Tan Tao Industrial Park Corporation (Itaco) will invest US$270 million to build a 600-megawatt thermo-power plant in southern Long An province, said a provincial official.
Duong Quoc Xuan, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that the plant will be located in Cam Co Dong River delta of Can Duoc district.
The 111.5-hectare plant is due for operation by 2013 in line with the national electricity development blueprint for the 2006-2015 period.
Once fully operational, the plant will generate 4.05 billion kWh of electricity per year, which will help to meet electricity demand of the province and the southern region as a whole.
However, information about the start of the project has not yet been made available.
ITA-POWER is capitalized at VND1 trillion (US$62.5 million), with 51 per cent from ITACO. (VNA)
