Vietnam to Be Int'l Tourist Destination over Next Two Years
The Pacific Asian Travel Association (PATA) recently released the results of a survey of 5,000 international tourists in 10 global tourism markets. As many as 31 per cent of international visitors said Vietnam will be their next destination in the next two years.
This is an opportunity for the Vietnamese tourism industry to accelerate its international arrivals to Vietnam to 6 million by 2010. In spite of numerous opportunities, the Vietnamese tourism industry encounters many difficulties, as infrastructure and hotel rooms in Vietnam are insufficient. Vietnam needs several years to diversify its currently simple tourism products. If the situation is improved, Vietnam will be able to receive the additional 31 per cent of international tourists.
