Taiwannnns Giants Okayed US$1.8Bln Steel Mill in Central Vietnam
Tycoon Corp and E-United Corp of Taiwan July 18 received a nod to construct a steel rolling factory worth US$1.8 billion in the central Quang Ngai province.
The factory is set for breaking ground in mid-November this year and will cover 455 hectares in the province’s Dung Quat Economic Zone, said Nguyen Xuan Hue, the province’s Chairman.
The joint venture expects it will produce five million tons of steel of various types yearly, most of them would be stainless steel and carbon steel.
However, the official could not be reached for time for operation of the factory.
The Taiwan’s Tycoons Worldwide Group was licensed to build the steel factory with registered capital in September 2006. (VNA)
