Lilama Owns Construction Deals worth US$2.5 Bln
Vietnam Machinery Installation Corp. (Lilama) has been assigned to act as the general construction contractor of a series of focal and big power and cement projects valued at nearly US$2.5 billion, local media reported.
They are the 300-megawatt Uong Bi expanded thermo power plant, Ca Mau power plants No. 1 and No.2 with combined capacity of 1,500 MW, 450-megawatt Nhon Trach power plant No. 1, Song Thao and Do Luong cement plants, the state-owned People newspaper said.
The Uong Bi expanded thermo power plant has been recently put in use to generate nearly 2.6 billion kWh of electricity annually.
Meanwhile, two turbines of Ca Mau 1 power plant have generated over 650 million kWh of power for six months.
Lilama has targeted to speed up power projects in order to reach output of 3,000 MW by 2015, accounting for 10 per cent of the national figure.
The corporation has reported to pump VND2 trillion (US$125 million) into power projects and cement factories so far this year. (The People)
