Vinashin's Affiliate Starts Building US$50 Mln Car Carrier Vessel

Ha Long Shipyard, an affiliate of the state-run Vinashin Business Group, has recently kicked off construction of a vessel, costing US$50 million, for Israel's Raycar Carriers Limited Corp, Tien Phong newspaper said.
 
The CR – 4900 HL01, expected to carry 4,900 cars, is the first unit among a series of eight vessels contracted to build between Ha Long Shipyard and the Raycar Carriers, said the source.
 
The car carrier vessel is designed by Italia's Naval Progetti and constructed under supervision of DNV-Norway register agency, the Tien Phong noted.
 
The ship is designed to meet the international standards and installed with many modern equipment to accommodate every seaport, it said.
 
The vessel is measured at 185 meters in length, 39 meters in width, 14 meters in height, and capacity of 13,560 kW. It can reach full speed at 10.50 nautical miles per hour. (Pioneer, VNA)
