Vietnam Starts Building US$50 Mln Engineering Factory in South

Vinashin Soairap Shipbuilding Industry Corp Limited December 10 kicked off construction of two factories costing VND800 billion (US$50 million) to produce vessel engines and build ships in southern Dong Nai province, Tuoi Tre newspaper said.
 
Vinashin Soairap expected the two factories, to be one of biggest ship building complex in the southern Vietnam, will start operations and churn out their first products in the third quarter of 2008, said the source.
 
On the same day, the Dong Nai province – based company started building a cargo ship weighted of 15,000 tons, inked to construct another ship of this type and a series of ten cargo vessels weighted of 36,000 tons each.
 
The company will employ an additional of 2,000 workers from now to 2010 to get construction done. (Youth, Vietnam Law)
