Vietnam OKs Three Cos to Explore Titanium Ore in Central Region
The government of Vietnam said November 27 on its Web site that it has given a nod to three local private firms to explore titanium ores in central Binh Dinh province.
Phu Hiep Co., Ltd, Anh Vy Trade Co., Ltd and Biotan Mineral Joint Stock Co will jointly explore titanium ore in the province's Phu My district.
Deputy PM Hai urged the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and provincial authorities to coordinate with the three companies to develop the tasks.
Recently, central Thua Thien Hue province approved to construct a titanium slag processing factory costing of VND100 billion (US$62.5 million) in the province’s Huong Thuy industrial park aiming to fully tap the mineral resources in the region.
With three-fourths of total land mass is mountainous, Vietnam has around reserves of 224 million tons of metal minerals, including the largest reserve of titan, manganese, lead, zinc and copper, said governmental estimate. (Government Website)
