Vietnam to Invest US$1.07 Bln to Develop Foodstuff Industry by 2010

Vietnam will pour up to VND17.25 trillion, or US$1.07 billion to develop its foodstuff industry from now to 2010, state media reported.
 
The Ministry of Trade and Industry recently approved an overall plan to develop the sector by 2010, under which, most of the money will be used to renovate technologies to turn out more high-quality products, including instant noodles, confectioneries and monosodium glutamate, for domestic consumption and export. 

The industry will produce 1.5 million tons of confectionaries, 870,000 tons of instant noodles and 302,711 tons of seasoning until 2010. (Vietnam & World Economy)
