PetroVietnam Affiliate to Probe, Produce Oil, Natural Gas in Cuba
The Vietnamese government said on its website November 19 that it has allowed a PetroVietnam affiliate, PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) to explore and produce oil and natural gas at seven blocks in Cuba.
The Prime Minister has approved PVEP’s investment project to carry out the first phase of oil and natural gas exploration and production at inland Blocks 16, 17, 18 and offshore Blocks N31, N32, N42 and N43 in the Latin American country.
However, the government did not specify the project’s estimated investment, potential reserves, locations and the time for the start.
This is the first oil and natural gas probe and production of Vietnam in Cuba. (Government Website)
