Vietnam OKs to Explore White Sand, Granite Stone in Central Region

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has approved for Viglacera Co and Tan Son Hoa Cuong Ltd., Co to explore white sand and granite stone mines in central provinces, the Government website said on December 18.
 
The approval allows Vietnam Glass and Construction Ceramics Corp to look for Ba Don white sand mine in five communes in Quang Binh province's Quang Trach district and Tan Son Hoa Cuong Ltd., Co to explore granite stone in Ninh Thuan province's Ninh Hai district.
 
Deputy PM Hai urged the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, provincial authorities to coordinate with the two companies to carry out the necessary tasks, the website noted.
 
Quang Binh is estimated to treasure 900,000 cubic meters of white sand, the main material for glass making, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
 
Ninh Thuan, meanwhile, is said to reserve 850 million cubic meters of granite stone, a precious building material, noted the province official website. (Govt Website, www.mpi.gov.vn))
