Tourists to HCM City in First Five Months Continued Rising

According to the HCM City Tourism Department, in the first five months of this year the city greeted more than 1.2 million foreign tourists with an estimated turnover of 12,000 billion VND, 42 percent of the yearly target and a 17 percent increase year on year. Of those, the number of foreign tourists in May rose to 195,000, an increase of 12 percent against the same period last year.

 

The ten markets sending the largest number of foreign tourists are the US, Japan, Taipei (China), Australia, the Republic of Korea, China, France, Singapore, Canada and Malaysia.

 

At present, the city tourism department is focusing on speeding up promotion and advertising activities, and reprinting City Guide publications, maps and events timetables in Korean, Russian, Chinese and French languages.
