Vietnam Reaps US$1.6 Bln from Exports to China in Jan-May
Vietnam reportedly earned US$1.6 billion from goods exports to China in the first five months of this year, said the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s website.
Among key export items, coal topped the list with US$343.19 million, followed by rubber with US$300.97 million, crude oil with US$249.9 million, computers, electronics and spare parts with US$95.46 million, woodwork products with US$62.52 million and cashew nut with US$54.73 million.
The website did not figure the country’s import spending during the period.
Vietnam always incurs trade deficit with China, which reached US$2.81 billion in 2005 and US$3.8 billion in 2006.
In 2007, the two-way trade posted at US$15.8 billion, surpassing far from the target of US$15 billion by 2010. (Vinanet)
