Vietnam’s Jan-July Exports to U.S. Reach US$6.5 Bln

Vietnam reportedly fetched over US$6.5 billion from goods shipments to the United States in the first seven months of this year, up 18.9 per cent on-year, said the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s website.
 
In July, the country’s exports stateside were valued at US$1.12 billion, up 14.3 per cent on-month and 18.8 per cent on-year.
 
The country’s export staples like garments and textiles, woodwork products, footwear obtained steady growth rates of between 10 per cent and 19 per cent.
 
Notably, seafood grew again with respective on-year rises of 32.3 per cent in July and 23 per cent in Jan-July, said the website.
 
The website did not revealed Vietnam’s import spending during the period.
 
Two-way trade between Vietnam and the U.S. is expected to surpass US$15 billion this year, as compared with US$12.444 billion in 2007. (Vinanet)
