350,000 ones is the necessary number of labourers needed by the rubber industry to accomplish the goal of expanding the area for planting rubber trees to 1 million hectares by 2015, not to mention the area in Laos and Cambodia (100,000 hectare/country).
To have a pool of labour with high skills, it is necessary that 10,000 labourers be required to have university and college degrees. In addition, the industry will need to retrain 2,600 labourers. With the current area of plantation, if every three hectares get controlled by one labourer, the number of labourers who need to be trained will amount to 65,000 ones.
