EC Pledges to Fund US$75 Mln for Vietnam
The European Commission (EC) has recently approved to fund US$75 million for Vietnam’s socioeconomic development plan from 2006 to 2010 and raising capacity of the health sector.
This is the second annual action plan for Vietnam under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that has been inked by EC and the government of Vietnam in June 2007.
Foreign donors Dec 5 pledged official development assistance of US$5.014 billion for Vietnam next year, compared with US$5.4 billion for this year.
Of the total, the World Bank will give US$1.66 billion, the Asian Development Bank US$1.566 billion, France US$280 million, South Korea US$268.7 million, Germany US$186 million and the U.S. US$128.12 million. (Investment)
