2009 Coal Exports to Fall Slightly
Coal export is forecast to fall to 19.5 million tons this year, down 200 tons against last year, according to the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin).
The group also said domestic coal sales would reach 21.5 million tons in 2009.
To ensure coal volume for export and domestic consumption this year, the coal industry has to produce at least 41 million tons, up 3 per cent on-year, Vinacomin added.
Vietnam is currently key coal supplier to China and Japan. (Capital’s Security, Young People)
