Vietnam Reports 32,000 Jobs Cut So Far: Official

Vietnam is reportedly to have seen 32,000 jobs cut so far, the state-run Tien Phong newspaper said, quoting a senior official of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalid and Social Affairs.
 
Pham Minh Huan, head of the ministry’s Labor and Salary Division noted that Ho Chi Minh City reported the highest number of job cuts, followed by Binh Duong, Danang and Hanoi.
 
Huan said that the government will provide one-month allowance to unemployed workers.
 
The government officials estimated that economic slowdown will slash up to 300,000 jobs this year. (Pioneer)
