Vietnam SCIC Nets VND1.3 Tln Profit in 2008, Fulfilling 130 per cent of Year Target

The state-run State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) has said that SCIC, which holds stakes with book value of VND8.139 trillion in VND805 state-owned enterprises, netted VND1.3 trillion (US$76.9 million) profit in 2008, fulfilling 130 per cent of the year's target.
 
The SCIC grossed revenue of VND1.938 trillion, achieving 139 per cent of the year's revenue target.
 
By 2008-end, the SCIC and the Ministry of Finance received debts of VND1.033 trillion of dividend, withdrew VND182 billion from selling state-owned stakes and got back VND13.547 trillion from share sales of SOEs.
 
The corporation had sold state-owned stakes valued at VND211 billion in 70 enterprises with book value of VND122 billion. (Stock Investment)
