Vietnam Retailing Sales, Services +27.1 per cent to VND98.482 Tln in January

Vietnam's retailing sales and services are estimated to have climbed 27.1 per cent on year to VND98.482 trillion (US$5.83 billion) in January based on rising demand ahead of Lunar New Year holidays, according to the government-run General Statistics Office.
 
Retailing sales and services by the state-owned sector are forecast to have expanded 33.2 per cent to VND12.264 trillion (US$725.68 million), accounting for 12.5 per cent of the total, the GSO said.
 
The value of retailing sales by private sector is estimated to have jumped 30.1 per cent to VND30 trillion (US$1.775 billion), accounting for 30.5 per cent, by individual households has soared 25.2 per cent to VND53.091 trillion (US$3.141 billion), representing more than 53 per cent and by the foreign-invested sector has risen 17 per cent to VND2.92 trillion, the GSO added.
 
The commercial sector accounts for VND81.075 trillion, followed by restaurant and hotel sector with VND11.162 trillion, service with VND5.17 trillion and tourism with VND1.075 trillion. (GSO)
