JBIC: Vietnam Rated Third in Medium Development Prospects
Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has ranked Vietnam as the third in terms of medium development prospects behind China and India but ahead of Russia, Thailand and Brazil.
JBIC said Vietnam boasts low-cost manpower, good prospects, investment diversification, and high-quality workforce in automobile assembling.
Vietnam received less favors from Japanese companies compared with Russia and Thailand due to underdeveloped infrastructure network, rising manpower costs, incomplete legal framework, JBIC noted.
Japanese firms are interested in electric equipment, electronics, automobile, mechanical manufacturing and chemicals industries, JBIC said after surveying 620 Japanese firms of wide range of sectors. (Vietnam & World Report)
