HCM City Exports Fall by 17.5 per cent to US$2.63Bln in Jan-Feb
Vietnam’s southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City is forecast to earn US$2.63 billion from goods exports in the first two months of this year, down 17.5 per cent on-year.
Excluding crude oil export, the city’s Jan-Feb export value reaches US$1.74 billion, up 13.6 per cent.
Ho Chi Minh City’s biggest cash earner of crude oil reports a sharp value fall of 46.3 per cent to US$892.7 million in the first two months.
It also reaps US$264.2 million from apparel exports during the time, up 9.7 per cent on-year, US$92.5 million from rice, up 12.2 per cent, US$72.3 million from footwear, up 6.4 per cent, US$60.3 million from seafood, up 10.1 per cent and US$34 million from coffee, up 24.8 per cent.
This year, the city targets earn US$26 billion from goods exports, up 16.5 per cent on-year, said the municipal Industry and Trader Service. (Vietnam Economic Times)
