Vietnam March CPI Likely to Ease at 0.3 per cent On Month
Vietnam’s market regulators have forecast that the country’s consumer price index will likely ease at 0.3 per cent on month in March, lower than 1.17 per cent in February despite average rises of 9 per cent of power rates.
Local market regulators attributed to tightening belts by consumers which are weakening purchasing power. They said total retailing and sales revenues dropped 10 per cent to VND85.167 trillion (US$5.039 billion) for the second month.
Total retailing and sales were down 0.37 per cent in January, they added.
Besides, the regulators noted that prices at the global market are on downturn. (News)
