Argentina in Need of Importing Goods from Vietnam: Ambassador
Argentina is still in a large demand of importing many items from Vietnam, particularly textiles and garments and footwear, which are key export commodities of the Southeast Asian nation, the Communist Party of Vietnam has said on its Website Feb 25.
The website reported the meeting between the outgoing Argentinean Ambassador Thomas Ferrari and Vietnam’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem Wednesday in Hanoi.
This will be good opportunity for the two sides to raise further their bilateral trade value which in fact is still very modest, at about US$80 million annually, the website continued to say.
In recent years, Argentina also attended to the cooperation on energy with Vietnam, particularly wanting to help the country develop the atomic energy field for peaceful purpose.
Deputy PM Khiem and Ambassador Thomas Ferrari believed that if the two sides take advantages of available potentials, Argentina will become a bridgehead for Vietnamese goods to penetrate into the South American market while Vietnam will be a huge partner of Argentina in the ASEAN bloc.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry granted a Friendship Medal for the Argentinean diplomat, who has hold office as the Ambassador to Vietnam for nine years.
Ambassador Thomas unveiled his President could pay a visit to Vietnam in the coming time. (CPV, The People)
