Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said that the government has plans to disburse VND300 trillion (US$17.751 billion) with the focus for infrastructure development and exports, as part of its packages to ward off the economic recession this year.

That sum will come from state budget, Mr Dung said.

During the monthly meeting held on March 2 and 3, Mr Dung urged sectors and ministries to prompt stimulus policies to solve difficulties for local companies to boost sales of key inventories.

First of all, Mr Dung requested VND60 trillion (US$3.55 billion) worth of government bonds be disbursed.

Government officials highly valued better macroeconomic indicators including exports growth of 23.4 per cent on month, rice shipments doubling, trade surplus of US$290 million, goods production valued at VND179.8 trillion in Jan-Feb, up 20.6 per cent on year.

On this occasion, the government leader urged for higher responsibility of police and mass media.
