US$100 Mln Int’l Standard Science University to Be Built in Vietnam
The Government of Vietnam will spend US$100 million on establishment of an international standard university of sciences this year.
The university, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, will be a leading university for sciences in Vietnam.
The university is scheduled to be built in 2009 and the first academic year will begin in 2010 with 100 students.
The government will also call for cooperation from foreign partners, among which France is confirmed as the first partner.
The university should meet international standards by 2020, aiming to be classified on a list of regional and international level universities, according to a plan by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The ministry is planning to build four international standard universities in Vietnam and position the country’s education in the world map by 2020.
Vietnam now has 369 universities and colleges. (Economy & Urban)
