The U.S. Department of Commerce has recognized that six Vietnamese seafood companies did not dump tra and basa catfish in the foreign market.

They are the Southern Seafood Co. Ltd, or South Vina, the Binh An Seafood JSC, or Biafishco, the Vinh Hoan Co., the QVD Food Co. Ltd, the An Giang Fishery Im-Export JSC, or Agifish, and the Viet An Fishery JSC, or Anvifish.

According to the final review on antidumping tax on Vietnamese tra and basa catfish, the DOC will exempt the tax for these six companies.

In 2008, Vietnam exported only US$78 million worth of catfish to the U.S., accounting for only 10.55 per cent of the country’s total seafood export revenue to this market. (Vietnam Economic Times)
